Dr. Ibrahim Batal Is Winner of 2019 Gloria Gallo Award

Congratulations to Dr. Ibrahim Batal who received the Gloria Gallo Award at the 2019 USCAP annual meeting at National Harbor, Maryland. He shared this year’s award with Dr. Astrid Weins from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

The Gloria Gallo Award is an annual award established in 2009 by the Renal Pathology Society to honor mid-career renal pathologists who are no older than 45 years of age and whose research has had significant impact on renal pathology.

Dr. Batal’s previous mentor at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Parmjeet Randhawa, nominated him to this award, which was presented by the chair of Nominations and Awards Committee, Dr. James Pullman, at the annual dinner for the Renal Pathology Society.
