Clinical Chemistry Honors Pathology Research Team's Top Article of 2025

A paper by senior author Fann Wu, MD, PhD, professor of pathology and cell biology at CUMC, has earned an article award from Clinical Chemistry, recognizing the outstanding article as the journal's most talked-about paper of 2025.

Dr. Wu, alongside co-authors Dr. Marie Smithgall, Shijun Mi, Hongai Xia, Jun Shi, Jiuhong Pang, Dr. Mahesh Mansukhani, and Dr. Susan Hsiao, received the highest Altmetric score of any article the journal published last year, a measure of online engagement that tracks news coverage and social media mentions. Clinical Chemistry's editors point to Altmetric as a meaningful gauge of how far an article's impact reaches beyond the lab.
