3 Pathology Faculty Members Receive P&S Basic Science and Teaching Awards

Dr. Marianne Wolff, MD, Professor Emerita of Clinical Surgical Pathology and Cell Biology, received the 2018 Physicians & Surgeons Distinguished Service Award in the Basic Sciences. This award seeks to honor those who have served the College with the greatest distinction.

Dr. Paulette Bernd, PhD, Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology at CUIMC, received the 2018 Charles W. Bohmfalk Award for Distinguished Contributions to Teaching in the Pre-Clinical Years. This award was established through the generosity of John Frederick and Alice Bohmfalk, in memory of Dr. Charles W. Bohmfalk, P&S Class of 1884, to recognize distinguished contributions to teaching.

Dr.  Julie Canman, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology at CUMC, received the 2018 Harold and Golden Lamport Award for Excellence in Basic Sciences Research. This award was initiated in 1983 to recognize outstanding young researchers in the basic and clinical sciences.

The above awards were  presented at the College of Physicians & Surgeons’ Graduation Ceremony on May 16, 2018.
