2010 - CAP Resident of the Year Award, College of American Pathologists’ Meeting CAP’10, Chicago, IL
Peer-nominated award presented by the College of American Pathologists to a CAP Junior Member to highlight accomplishments related to leadership, focus on patients, and service to the profession

1997 - Valedictorian, BP Hasdeu National College, Buzau, Romania

I am a board-certified anatomic pathologist with subspecialty training in oncologic and gastrointestinal pathology. I have also trained in basic science research at the CBR Institute for Biomedical Research/Harvard Medical School. Many of the histopathological characteristics of human diseases are not well understood at molecular level. My experience allows me to integrate aspects of molecular biology and genetics with gross anatomic and histopathological findings. Thus, I have been providing pathology support and consultation for basic science and translational research projects focused on immune dysregulation and neoplasia.

It is my goal is to continue to expand my expertise in diagnostic gastrointestinal pathology as well as in the histopathology of animal models of human disease, with a focus on gastrointestinal neoplasia and inflammation.
